ThermoFun - Taco Seasoning Recipe - ThermoFun | Thermomix Recipes & Tips (1)

Having a Thermomix means we can make our seasonings additive and preservative free. Whilst this recipe does not require the use of the Thermomix, it does team up well with the Salsa which can be used not only as a dip, but mixed with beef or chicken for tacos or burritos.

I quadruple this recipe when I make it. If you wish to do this just store it in an airtight jar. Remembering too, that one batch for 500g mince is the equivalent of 5 teaspoons.

This might be a silly question, but do you just add the seasoning straight to the mince or do you add water as well like you do with the packet taco seasoning?

Hi Jessica, It will depend on the quality of your mince and the fat content if you need to add any water to it. I tend to just add the seasoning straight to the mince but if you think you need a bit more moisture just add a couple of tablespoons of water.

Hi Anne-marie, I'm not sure which recipe you are referring to - but yes all my recipes with tomatoes can use a 400g tin or 400g fresh tomatoes which you can dice with your best knife!! :)

Could you advise on a possible conversion to using fresh garlic and fresh onion for use immediately?
I find I don't like those two as powders.
    Loving Thermofun!

Hi Malinda, I would just leave those two powders out and when cooking a recipe that uses the taco seasoning I would then add a clove of garlic and an onion. I hope this helps. :)

If I wanted to make a big batch of this to keep in the pantry, would I use 4.5 tsp per 500g mince?
